Tampa Bay's foremost proponents of Ska
return to the Skipperdome! Magadog was
formed in 1992, in Tampa, and are
regarded as the pioneering Florida Ska
band of Ska's Third Wave. The band,
featuring keyboardist/vocalist Jim
Pedigo, guitarist Jeff Kinsman,
trombonist/vocalist Ed Trombakian,
bassist Dave Akright, trumpeter
Christian Woodall, saxophonist Patty
Mayes, drummer Steve Hawes, and
percussion/vocalist Ed Lowery, released
four albums and appeared on over 10 Ska
compilations.

Hailing from St. Louis by way of Texas,
husky-voiced Zito’s spirited, powerful
material is easily as good as such
popular singer-songwriters as John Mayer
and Jack Johnson, while his cover of
Prince’s 1983 hit, “Little Red Corvette”
is different enough to make it his own (Zito
reimagines it as a plaintive ballad),
yet is still recognizable as the hit
that it became. In addition to his
songsmithery, Zito is one bad-ass
guitarslinger, wrangling smokey tones
out of his Stratocaster Zito has
appeared at Skipper's a couple of times
in past year, always as a solo acoustic
act. This time, he'll be rockin' with a
band who's lineup includes the amazing
Jimmy Carpenter on saxophone, who was
just here at the Skipperdome with Eric
Lindell.
